Impact Program
"Connecting Youth Through Basketball and Opportunity"
Program Overview
The Impact Program is KEYS Academy’s signature basketball-based initiative designed to connect inner-city youth (ages 16–24) with educational, personal development, and career opportunities. The program serves as the entry point into KEYS Academy, creating a safe, supportive, and structured environment where youth can grow, learn, and discover their full potential.

By combining sports with mentorship, skill-building, and access to community resources, Impact provides youth with the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need to overcome challenges and pursue long-term success.

Program Goals
-
Introduce youth to KEYS Academy’s broader programs and services in a fun, dynamic environment.
-
Connect participants with adult mentors who provide guidance, career advice, and life coaching.
-
Pathways to Success: Serve as a “puller” to KEYS Academy’s Blueprint Program, including the Barberpreneur and Cybersecurity tracks.

Program Structure
-
Youth participate in organized open gym and tournaments, designed to teach teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

-
Participants attend workshops on goal setting, financial literacy, communication, and leadership.

-
Impact participants are introduced to KEYS Academy’s Blueprint Program, which provides paid apprenticeships in Barberpreneur and Cybersecurity tracks.

Why Impact Works
The Impact Program leverages sports as a “hook” to engage youth who might otherwise be disconnected from educational and career pathways. By using basketball as a vehicle for mentorship, skill-building, and community engagement, youth develop discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence while gaining awareness of the resources and opportunities available to them.
